The inventory list, by Artist, is below. It's time to rehome these treasures. We're referring to this effort as "Dave&Julianne's Free Record Store" since good buddy house guest (Also crazy smart music geek, which is obviously helpful) Dave Shipman is lending the assist, and also because we intend to give all these records away to fellow music fans in a thoughtful fashion and maybe with some hoopla. Took me long enough to get here, might as well make a big deal about it. Throughout the process, we've been listening and reviewing the albums, and I'll be posting those reviews for posterity as well.
Quick Recap of the background - My Dad was a crazy Jazz fan. He treasured his LP collection far more than anything else, except maybe flying super fast planes in the name of defending democracy via killing bad guys. Oh yeah, he was a Marine Corps fighter pilot, in case you're wondering how he managed that. Treasured this collection certainly more than he treasured the 3 crazy women that comprised his family. It's possible deafeningly loud jazz is the only way a human could tolerate my Mother, my sister and I in a house together. Anyhoo - the collection has been wasting away in my Mom's house for years and I've just now had a chance to excavate and inventory. All I'm asking for anything is that it gets played, hopefully at ear-shattering volume, and someone gets a kick out of it, because you know - that's what he'd have wanted.
The list is by Artist only and doesn't reflect title(s), quantity (some Artists have 8 releases in here, some just the 1) or condition. All 12" 33.3. Took me frikkin 10 years to get the LPs out of Mom's house, and 2 days so far sorting them out.
The "Negotiable" list is stuff I intend to keep but if any serious collector or DJ is missing something they desperately need or can't find anywhere else and is going to love that LP more than life itself, then OK - I'll hand it off. That list section just means I need an extra good reason to give it away. Special considerations for sure for DJ's. WinkWink.
